Evolution of the ESPN Brand topic for AAF ECI Luncheon Program

Kevin Kirksey, senior director of Brand Franchises within ESPN’s Marketing Department, will be the guest speaker at the AAF East Central Indiana luncheon program, April 3, 2009, 11:30 a.m. at the Horizon Convention Center, 401 S. High St., Muncie. Kirksey’s topic ‘Evolution of the ESPN Brand’ will provide insight into ESPN marketing strategies and development for Sunday Night Football, Sunday NFL Countdown and many more. Sponsor for the event is Backyard Broadcasting (ESPN Muncie’s 1340).

After joining ESPN in December 2000, Kirksey has been instrumental in the development and execution of all ESPN’s marketing strategies in support their many on-air brands including: NHL on ESPN, Major League Baseball on ESPN, College Football, the PBA Tour, 3 Tennis Grand Slams (Wimbledon, French Open, and Australian Open), the IndyCar Series and the World Baseball Classic. He also managed the ongoing efforts behind ESPN’s first brand campaign, the “Without Sports” initiative. Most recently, Kirksey spearheaded the first ever completely live advertising campaign, promoting the morning edition of SportsCenter.

Prior to joining ESPN, Kirksey served in an account management role at Young & Rubicam New York supporting brands such as KFC, Sony and United Airlines.
